Application of ANOVA for Plant Breeding: Single Marker Analysis Example (Raw Data Set)

Author:

David M. Francis, The Ohio State University

This page provides the molecular marker data and bacterial spot disease severity data for a backcross population as part of the ANOVA for Molecular Marker Analysis example presented in the Overview of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) page.

The data below accompanies these pages:

Data Table

The table provides the genotypic data for two molecular markers (TG23 and PTO) and bacterial spot disease severity data for 41 BC1 individuals, as well as the parental lines (7998 and 88119). The variables in this data set are:

  • gen – number assigned to each individual
  • pop(log) – disease severity that has undergone a logarithmic transformation.
  • TG23 – marker genotype data; 0=absent, 1=present
  • PTO – marker genotype data; 0=absent, 1=present
