This page provides an overview of the Pennsylvania State University tomato breeding program as a SlideShare presentation.

The tomato genetics and breeding research program at Penn State, led by Dr. Majid Foolad, aims to:

  1. Identify genetic sources for desirable traits
  2. Discern genetic basis of traits of interest
  3. Develop genetic markers and maps
  4. Identify genes or quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for traits of interest
  5. Develop tomato breeding lines and cultivars using a combination of traditional and marker-assisted breeding

The slideshow below elaborates on these goals.
